Foxy Brown thrown in jail again for assault

New York - Rapper Foxy Brown, pregnant and unmarried, has been jailed in New York for violating her probation terms and assault.

Brown, 27, is being held in a New York City jail until her next hearing on September 7th.

The rapper was arrested earlier this month for assaulting a neighbor with her cell phone.

In October, she was put on probation for assaulting two nail salon workers.

Foxy Brown told the court she was three months pregnant.

Judge Melissa Jackson also found that Foxy Brown had traveled outside New York without the court's permission and had missed anger management classes which she had been ordered to attend while on probation.

The mobile phone incident arose after Brown got into an argument with her neighbour, Arlene Raymond, over the hip-hop star playing her car stereo, New York police said.

The rapper was released on bail and charged with two counts of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

It is not the first time she has been accused of violating her probation - earlier this year she was threatened with jail following an incident at a Florida hair salon, when police said she threw hair glue at an employee.

On that occasion, she was allowed to remain on probation after a Manhattan judge said she had kept appointments with her probation officer, passed drug tests and attended anger management classes.

Foxy Brown's albums include Ill Na Na and Chyna Doll, which went to number one in 1999.
