Dirty Don ditched by RepublicansCorrupt Congressman removed from powerAlaska Republican Don Young, under multiple criminal investigations for bribery, corruption, and extortion, has been removed from a House committee by his colleagues in Congress as a step to win back the public's trust in the Republican Party.
Young lost his post on the GOP Steering Committee and could soon be removed as the ranking member on the House Natural Resources Committee. Earlier this year a watchdog group said Don Young is the reason Republicans have lost credibility with the American people. From National Review Online:... A similar event, however, was similarly unnoticed: the removal of Rep. Don Young (R., Alaska) from his position on the House GOP Steering Committee. Young's defeat at the hands of Rep. Mike Simpson (R., Idaho) to be the member on the committee representing small states was confirmed by a Dear Colleague letter circulated today by Boehner's office.
