Her publicist, Leslie Sloane, released a statement after an internet report saying Lohan had been dropped from the film. ABC announced on Monday that Lohan was to guest in six episodes of Ugly Betty. Lohan has not appeared on screen since 2007's flop I Know Who Killed Me, and was jailed last year for drink-driving and drug possession. A story on entertainment gossip site deadlinehollywooddaily.com claimed Lohan had been dropped by producers of the Manson Girls because other actresses did not want to work with her. But Sloane told Reuters: "Unfortunately [the Manson movie] didn't come together quickly enough, and she was offered other roles, which she accepted and is looking forward to doing." The 21-year-old will join the series of Ugly Betty playing a mean former classmate of the main character Betty. She will make her debut on the show in this season's finale and will then appear in five episodes next year. Sloane said Lohan was also signed up for the film comedy Labour Pains produced by Rick Schwartz, whose credits include The Departed, The Aviator and Gangs of New York. The actress began her career as a child, appearing in a remake of The Parent Trap. More recently, she has starred in Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls before struggling with alcohol and drug problems. Lohan was jailed last November for 84 minutes after admitting to drinking and driving as well as cocaine possession. © AlaskaReport. All Rights Reserved. |
