Katie Holmes runs the New York City marathon

Katie Holmes completed the 26-mile New York City marathon in 5:29:58, the New York Daily News said Monday.

"I'm good, but I'm feeling very tired"

NEW YORK -- Hollywood actress Katie Holmes completed the 26-mile New York City marathon in 5:29:58, the New York Daily News said Monday.

Her husband, actor Tom Cruise, and their toddler daughter, Suri, met Holmes and gave her a good-luck kiss about 15 miles into the race.

They were also waiting for her at the finish line.

"I'm good, but I'm feeling very tired," Holmes told People magazine.

The 28-year-old actress trained for months for the grueling event.

"I have always loved to run," she told Harper's Bazaar recently. "It has helped me lose the extra baby weight."

The News said Holmes went pretty much unnoticed until Cruise showed up to show his support.
