Mills blames media for poor image as gold diggerHeather Mills is claiming that the media is at fault for portraying her as gold digger over her divorce from Paul McCartney.
Mills added the couple's daughter has been forced to watch as "one parent is condemned by the media and the other is 'protected' or even revered." LONDON (UPI) -- Former model Heather Mills has bashed the media for portraying her in a negative light over her divorce from famed British singer Paul McCartney. Mills said that in addition to publicizing her nearly $48 million divorce settlement from McCartney, members of the British media have continually vilified her while protecting the former Beatle, The Daily Telegraph said Saturday. "I had no wish for these proceedings to be made public, but releasing them in part is particularly unfair," she said of the recent divorce settlement. Mills added the couple's daughter has been forced to watch as "one parent is condemned by the media and the other is 'protected' or even revered." Mills told the Telegraph that despite such media criticisms, she intends to using her newfound wealth in a productive manner. "With my head held high, I am glad to be a strong woman and will use my wealth productively and continue my attempts to make a positive difference in this world," she said.
