A Memphis-bound plane was forced to return to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport on Wednesday after a man who had missed his flight made a bomb threat.

"The plane was brought back, erring on the side of caution, after he made that threatening statement," said TSA spokeswoman Jennifer Peppin reports the Associated Press.

"There is no bomb on board," he said. The passenger, whose name was not released, was being questioned by the FBI.

The passenger could face unspecified charges. The flight was Northwest Flight 980, according to FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer.
