An earthquake measuring magnitude 6.9 hit the Bicol-Eastern Visayas region of the Philippines Monday night.

The Bicol-Eastern Visayas Region quake was recorded at 10:11 p.m., with its epicenter traced at 187 km east-southeast of Pandan, Catanduanes province, or 187 km northeast of Calbayog, Samar province.

It was also traced at 218 km east of Legazpi City in Albay, or 536 km east-southeast of Manila.

The Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions are still reeling from damage caused by flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rains in past weeks.

The USGS initially estimated the quake at magnitude 6.1, which is considered powerful enough to cause damage to infrastructure.
