Alaska Volcano Observatory Lowers Level to Yellow/Advisory

At approximately 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18, 2009, the Alaska Volcano Observatory (AVO) lowered their level of concern and alert level to YELLOW/ADVISORY in regard to Mt. Redoubt . As a result, the Municipality of Anchorage Office of Emergency Management (OEM) has correspondingly lowered its operational status to "Normal Operations".

"Municipal agencies are conducting normal daily activities with incidents being handled with existing resources, policies, and procedures. Current conditions are being monitored by appropriate agencies." (MOA Emergency Operation Plan 2008)
