Washington, DC - Fred Thompson will be airing his first television advertisements during the Republican presidential debate on Wednesday. The debate he is skipping.

The first ad, called "Debate," is scheduled to air nationally on the Republican slanted Fox News during the debate.

The campaign will release a second ad that will air on Fox News on Thursday.

Thompson, a former U.S. Senator from Tennessee, will officially announce that he's running for president at 12:01am Thursday.

Thompson, 64, had delayed his announcement for months, keeping supporters on edge and raising questions about his ability and commitment to make what could be a grueling presidential run.
