Bjork allegedly attacks photographer

AUCKLAND, New Zealand -- Icelandic singer Bjork allegedly ripped the shirt of a news photographer after he snapped her picture as she arrived in New Zealand to play a gig.

The alleged incident happened at Auckland international airport during the weekend, The Guardian reported.

"I took a couple of pictures and, as I turned and walked away, she came up behind me, grabbed the back of my black skivvy and tore it," New Zealand Herald photographer Glenn Jeffrey told the New Zealand Press Association. "As she did this, she fell over; she fell to the ground. At no stage did I touch her or speak with her. Bjork said nothing during the incident but her male companion was saying: 'B, don't do this. B, don't do this.'"

Jeffrey admitted the man with Bjork had asked beforehand that he not take photos.

The photographer reported the matter to Auckland authorities but told The Guardian he hadn't filed a formal complaint and was seeking legal advice.

Bjork's representative wasn't available for comment, the newspaper said.
