Quinnat Landing Hotel in King Salmon, Alaska burns to the ground

A fire engulfed the Quinnat Landing Hotel in the town of King Salmon on Thursday burning it to the ground. No one was hurt in the blaze that sat on the banks of the Naknek River, a gateway to nearby Katmai National Park.
Owner David McGuire said two guests and a handful of employees escaped from the 48-room hotel after the fire started.
Despite a steady downpour, high winds fanned the fire that engulfed the two–story building.
Officials on Thursday said it was unclear how the fire started.
