Frank Murkowski's henchman Jim Clark admits to corruption

Jim Clark, the former chief of staff to ex-governor Frank Murkowki has been arrested and has agreed to rollover on Murkowski and his fellow cronies.

Clark pleaded guilty to conspiring to arrange for corrupt oilfield contractor VECO to pay $68,000 for consultants and polls on Murkowski's 2006 re-election campaign.

Specifically, the plea agreement indicates that Clark committed mail and wire fraud in order to advance a "scheme" in which VECO Corp. would eventually pay more than $68,000 in expenses relating to Gov. Murkowski's re-election campaign.

The charges go on to say that the scheme was hatched so that the public would "be deceived and the payments would not be disclosed, as required by law."

The ethically and morally corrupt Murkowski was thrown out of office in August of 2006 after repeatedly being on the opposite side of voters (and common sense).

Clark is expected to enter his plea before U.S. District Judge John Sedwick Tuesday afternoon. We'll be there.

So far the massive FBI-IRS investigation has snagged two of the state's three members of Congress, one of their aides the ex-president of the state Senate , four state legislators, two lobbyists, two VECO executives and their families. And now Clark.

Frank Murkowski's daughter, U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski, is also no stranger to corruption, she was involved in a widely publisized land scam last summer.
